Giving Back to Our Community
With everything we do, our goal is to share goodness in every bite. This philosophy of “sharing goodness” extends beyond the confections we make, and into the communities we serve.
A Partnership With Local Artists
The village of Forest Park, Ill. is located to the west of Chicago, and is also where our original, still-operational factory was founded in the early 1900s by Salvatore Ferrara. Circle Avenue Bridge is a prominently located Forest Park bridge that, in 2017, was in need of a little love. The village of Forest Park coordinated a ‘Cover Our Rust’ project, soliciting local artists to paint over 10-foot sections of the bridge’s rusted cement barriers.
In the spirit of community, our Forest Park plant made a donation to cover the cost of the paints. Our very talented artists donated their time by painting the Ferrara logo, characters and candy-themed pop art on a section of the bridge. We think it looks pretty sweet!
