There's a New Girl Scout Cookie Flavor, and You'll Want to Stock Up Immediately
By Cassie Hurwitz —

It is *officially* the most wonderful time of the year. No, not the holidays, but something even better. That's right—Girl Scout Cookie szn is here! Every winter, the Girl Scouts of the USA blesses us with box upon box of the greatest cookies ever. People go bananas over the sweet treats, and whether you call them Tagalongs or Peanut Butter Patties, Samoas or Caramel deLites, Shortbread or Trefoils, we can all agree that these cookies are beyond delicious.
Now, there's another fresh flavor to search for—Lemon-Ups. The new cookie is very similar to Lemonades, the tangy-sweet, lightly iced shortbread treat that's been a Girl Scout favorite for quite a few years. Lemon-Ups feature the same shortbread base and lemon icing. However, each will also showcase a motivational message on the top. There are eight possible variations, including empowering words such as "I am a go-getter" and "I am an innovator."
The messages are meant to inspire cookie consumers and align with the goals and values of the Girl Scout program. Selling Girl Scout Cookies teaches young girls many important lifelong skills, such as entrepreneurship, leadership, and decision making—all of which are crucial for women to explore. Supporting the Girl Scouts by buying a box (or 10) is a step toward a future with more female entrepreneurs, scientists, and doctors.
In addition to the motivational words, the Lemon-Ups are leading the charge with newly-designed packaging that also emphasizes the benefits of the Girl Scout experience. Boxes feature images of the diverse range of activities Girl Scouts partake in, from camping to designing robots to exploring space science.

To clear up the confusion between Lemonades and Lemon-Ups: Girl Scout Cookies hail from two separate bakeries, ABC Bakers and Little Brownie Bakers. That's why so many of the cookies have two different names and slight recipe variations. Each bakery caters to a different geographical region, so Lemon-Ups are the exciting solution to Lemonades only being provided in certain areas. Either way, the cookies are downright delicious, and now, everyone can get a lemony-fresh taste.
Sadly, the introduction of Lemon-Ups will mean the discontinuation of Savannah Smiles. Onward and forward, though—these new cookies are sure to be loved by everyone who tries them. Maybe, just maybe, they could give Thin Mints a run for their money!
